Injection molding tools with an integrated copper-cooling system

With the MELATO® technology it is possible to integrate complex cooling systems in injection molding tools or die-casting tools, as shown in the following pictures. In this way, the cycle time can be reduced dramatically and distortions of the parts are reduced because of the homogeneous tool temperature. The injection molding tool can be separated in the tool contour and in the MELATO® Cooling insert.

This offers several advantages:

• No limitations concerning materials (e.g. tool steel for contour, copper for insert).
• Insert can be integrated after heat treatment.
• Applications such as die pressure casting and hot forming for mass production are possible.
